These are the parts of my practice that I’m interested in expanding through research and practice at CalArts. With each work sample, I have briefly described the next steps of the project.

(A)TEMPORALITIES
I use an eight-channel set up, extended vocal techniques,
and MiMu gloves to loop and manipulate my voice. This
piece explores collective and individual misremembering.

Next Step: I am developing a methodology for collaborators and other artists to engage with this type of work and experience it in their own bodies.

Alien Under
A freediving dance short.
Composed, edited, and performed by Charles Peoples III.
Next Step: In March 2024, I’ll be working with projectLIMB, a freediving dance company, to further develop my underwater dance technique in Mexico, followed by professional filming.

The Unspoken
An excerpt of a multimedia piece currently in development.

Next Step: Expand the piece, pulling from Black experimental theater such as the choreopoem. There will be spoken word, projection, dance, and music.
